Off we go!

Just a couple of hours to go.....and then it's off to Morocco! My bags have been packed (and isn't it amazing what you think you need for a couple of days!), the appointments have been made and now we are ready to go.

My peacefully sleeping cat has no idea yet, that will need some explaining when I get back.

One of the dogs is still blissfully unaware too....

The other dog knows full well what is going on when suitcases get packed....

And finally my project for the plane!

The flight takes only 3,5 hrs, so I don't expect to finish all 8 blocks. Maybe one.....and that will give me a great excuse to check out he local markets in Rabat for fabrics! Any advice?

I'll show you the pictures when I get back!

Lots of love,
Heleen

In the nick of time....

Sweet pieces and I think they really are!
All four rows are finished!
Well finally, that is all I can say. I am expecting the new Mystery pattern in the post one of these days and today I finally finished part 4! I do think it was a bit unfair. Such a short month and such a lot of pieces.... Some of it was my own fault though.

I didn't pay enough attention to what I was doing and patched the pieces wrong......several times!

Luckily I finished the assignment in time to take to the Mystery meeting on Friday morning! It was great fun to see all the blocks made by everyone. Each mystery quilt is going to be different. Exiting.

I am preparing for a trip to Morocco on Tuesday. It is not a long trip, I am returning home on Saturday. I am however looking forward to it very much. The temperature in Morocco is around 18 C, so that is a lot warmer than it is here. Lovely.

Like any quilter I needed to make sure I have something to do in the plane and on the trip. Thankfully the new pattern for the mystery arrived! The whole Saturday was dedicated to selecting fabrics and cutting them up to take them with me.

Well, almost the whole Saturday. I did have to get dressed up and visit several bars in the area......it is one big party around here! The yearly Mardi Gras (or Carnaval as we call it)! Since I could not celebrate last year, I am having to party twice as hard! In other words: Great fun! At one point - in a certain bar - a pilot was helping me move around, while a wizard was clearing the way! That can only happen at this time.

Tonight we'll have more fun......I think
